Line Name: Almas Divinas, Mujeres Guerreras

Crossed: Spring 2023 (Line 19)

Why Did You Join?

I joined Hermandad de Sigma Iota Alpha, Inc. because of my sorors unwavering commitment to solidarity and social justice. What truly stood out to me was how my sorors were not just talking about the change we wanted to see, but were on the ground, actively fighting for it. Their actions spoke volumes, and that dedication to real impact, beyond just words, drew me in. Even after graduation, they continued to embody our core values and remained steadfast in their efforts to support and uplift our community. It’s that true, enduring commitment to social change that made me proud to become part of something so powerful.

What Do You Do Today?

I am the Director of Operations for Audelia Community, named after my mom, who instilled in me a deep passion for community and service. It is a mutual aid organization that I co-founded, which is dedicated to serving and supporting our community. In this role, I work closely with our team to ensure that we are meeting the needs of those who are most vulnerable. Additionally, I work for a crisis center in Baltimore County, where I focus on connecting community members with essential resources. Both of these roles allow me to contribute directly to strengthening and uplifting our community, which is something I’m deeply passionate about.
